City Raises LGBT Pride Flag in Support and Solidarity of Pulse Nightclub Victims

The City of Springfield raised the LGBT pride flag today at 12:00 p.m. above City Hall in support and solidarity of the victims and families of the Orlando, FL Pulse Nightclub tragedy.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno said, “We will stand united as one with our thoughts, prayers and encouragement against hate and violence. Sometimes I just shake my head in wonder on how some in our society can be so brutal and filled with hate. Whatever happened to mutual respect, understanding and living in harmony? Our collective good will always triumph over evil. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. poignantly stated – ‘we shall overcome.’”
